Rip It Up at The Pyramid Weekender
The 2026 BFI FAN UK-wide season, Rip It Up, explores and celebrates the changing face of youth rebellion, culture and expression – from joy to heartbreak – on screen in the UK.
As part of the season, The Pyramid at Anderston presents The Pyramid Weekender, co-curated with Ken McCluskey (The Bluebells) and in partnership with Street Level Photoworks.
A packed weekend of film, music, photography and special guests, with our host and MC for the weekend, Alistair Braidwood, including: an exhibition drawn from the archives of Harry Papadopolous, Glastonbury images by Jill Furmanovsky, exclusive event screenings, a special walk with Glasgow Music City Tour, book signings, live performance, print your own merch and memorabilia with Print Clan and Letterspace CIC, pop up portrait studio, live DJ sets and a vinyl, books and merchandise fair, will take over the iconic Pyramid on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.
Film programme includes Quadrophenia, Teenage Superstars, Glastonbury the Movie (30th anniversary cut), Beats, California Schemin’ and Living for Kicks (collection of archive shorts from the Associated Rediffusion Collection) along with an exclusive preview screening of The Revolutionary Spirt, the story of Zoo Records.
Special in person guests include:
Alistair Braidwood / Barry Burns / Jill Furmanovsky / Kieran Hurley / Katy Lironi / Douglas MacIntyre / Ken McCluskey / Grant McPhee / Jim McCulloch / Fiona Shepherd / Paul Simpson / Alison Stroak
FREE (Donations welcome): Print your own merch and memorabilia with Print Clan and Letterspace CIC – bring one of those tote bags you’ve got hanging around, or a t-shirt, patch or other clothing (or buy a bag on the day) and print a unique piece to take away, and try printing your own newspaper headline with Letterspace CIC.
Pop Up Portrait Studio with Street Level Photoworks: Pose with a piece of your past! Join our celebration of youth culture by bringing along a piece of your personal memorabilia – favourite record, ticket stub, band t-shirt or poster, or even a pic of you with your pals – and we’ll photograph you and build up a collection of portraits.
