Support and Donations
Can you or your organisation directly support your local community?
The Pyramid at Anderston can make it easy! There are lots of ways to support, get involved and help us to Make Anderston Flourish.
Our work changes lives for the better every day – making sure kids don’t go hungry during the holidays, preventing isolation amongst older people, supporting mental and physical health through our wellbeing programmes, running our low cost Shop, producing quality events, creating amazing experiences and opportunities for people who face barriers to access, and much more.
The work we do at the pyramid has several key outcomes:
- Over 300 people supported each week via our food shop, community fridge, and community meal.
- 10 regular sports / wellbeing sessions each week, with many more added throughout the seasons.
- Our holiday food programmes each school holiday, supporting over 70 local families with food, activities, and respite.
- Art, film design, and cultural experiences of top quality production and international appeal, right on the doorstep of Anderston, allowing amazing access to the arts for local primary school, nurseries, and the community at large.
Ways you can support:
- Donations of goods or food
- Good quality and lightly used office equipment and furniture, tools, and products – we can repurpose, sell, use, or distribute to our community. We’ve received donations of bistro tables for our foyer, toilet roll we’ve sold in our Shop, and bulk deliveries of toys and games. Please note, we can’t accept individual items, second hand clothing and bric a brac.
- A collection drive for our Community Shop
- We have lists of the most needed items, including food and toiletries, and can collect from you. We’ve also received Christmas gift sets, Easter eggs, and other seasonal items which are always very welcome.

- Volunteering as a team or individually
- We host Team Volunteering Days as well as individuals. We love help to keep our building and outdoor areas neat and tidy, and we really appreciate professional volunteer hours. Skills such as accounting, book-keeping, marketing, PR and legal/advice helps us to keep our costs down.
- Raising funds via sponsored events such as the Kilt Walk, a golf day, bake sale or quiz
- Direct donations, payroll giving, or sponsoring an event or one of our projects – as we’re a registered charity, you may pay less tax too

We make sure you see the results of your support, with stories and photos you can share with your team and customers, as well as acknowledgement on our Supporters’ Board in The Pyramid and in our communications.
Success Stories
Good Donations:
We received a large donation of goods from a national hotel chain, including pallets of pantry staples and toiletries which supplemented our Shop stock for over a year, feeding local people and generating revenue for us to continue to operate. Children’s bikes were part of the donation too, allowing us to teach pre-schoolers to ride in our Play Together on Pedals programmes and to keep the bike and continue to cycle.
Assembling the bikes and packing items were part of the company’s Team Day, and The Pyramid team were able to meet staff and tell them how their support helps.
Staff support:
A property services group facilitated staff to volunteer with us during their working hours to collect surplus food for our Shop, saving food from landfill, and feeding our community.
Cash donations:
A prominent UK law firm, headquartered in Scotland, matched funds raised by a member of staff who took part in the Great Scottish Run alongside Pyramid volunteers and team members. Hundreds of pounds were raised, directly supporting some of our essential running costs.
Staff power:
A financial services company sent an enthusiastic team during the annual volunteering week in 2024 and 2025 to spruce up our outdoor walls, railings and green spaces, saving us money and time. We think they enjoyed themselves too!
